Sian Greer – Shandong Province, China

March 23, 2011

Sian Greer writes: “After major visa problems last semester, I’m happy to report for the blog that I am back in Shandong Province, China teaching English at the Shandong institute of Light industry in Jinan. It has been a very enjoyable experience so far, as in my job I am basically running the Sino-British programme without much interference from anyone. I teach art and design students, English and some ESP. I was moderated last week and they seem to be extremely happy with what I’m doing at the moment. My contract runs out in July, and as of yet I’m not sure what my plans are. Although I’m sure they would be happy for me to stay, I have started to apply to do an MA in English Language Teaching at the University of Reading. … I have attached some photos from my Classes at Christmas, you are welcome to use them for the Celta blog. I convinced two of my friends to apply for this summer, as doing the Swansea Uni CELTA was one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
