International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language Conference Scholarships for Glasgow 2017

June 20, 2016

The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) will be holding their annual conference in Glasgow between 4th and 7th April 2017. This conference is a must-attend event in the teaching calendar, combining as it does plenary sessions from well-known names, inspiring presentations, practical workshops, and a variety of publishers’ events. There is also the jobs fair – an event where the best job offers can be secured.

IATEFL  have a large series of scholarships available to support attendance at the conference. These range from scholarships for new teachers, scholarships by world-region, scholarships by sector and scholarships by special interests (SIGS).  Usually, the scholarship supports attendance at the event with the requirement that the winner provides a compelling reason to attend. Sometimes, the winner of the scholarship is asked to give a presentation or poster presentation. For instance, the Africa Scholarship provides a flight, accommodation, visa and expenses to someone from an African country who can best explain how they  would benefit professionally from coming to Glasgow.

Many of these scholarships do not require the applicant to be a current IATEFL member, but all have strict closing dates, typically 21st July 2016.
