We have a number of opportunities available to teach English within the public school system in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Working through an agency run by the city government, we will support you every step of the way from application to arrival.

The Position:

 Teaching English at a level that suits you, from Early Years to High School

  • Class sizes of up to sixty
  • Maximum of 16 teaching hours per week
  • Office hours 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday – no regular weekend work
  • Preparing and delivering lessons at an age appropriate level
  • Assisting with related school events – e.g. English clubs and international days

The Benefits:

 Salary of 9,000-12,000 CNY/(£1,000-1,400) per month dependent on experience

  • Housing provided OR 2,500CNY housing allowance paid per month
  • 4,000 CNY flight bonus at the end of each semester
  • 11 paid public holidays per annum, plus one month paid over Chinese New Year
  • One day paid holiday per year for religious observance (e.g. Christmas)
  • FREE day trips every month to local places of interest with lunch provided
  • FREE Mandarin Chinese language lessons
  • Airport collection and assistance settling upon arrival
  • Training and development opportunities available

  • Engaging and confident public speakers
  • Passion for education and working with children
  • Native speaker of English
  • DBS CHECK REQUIRED
  • BACHELOR’S DEGREE REQUIRED – this is according to Chinese law
  • TEFL CERTIFICATE REQUIRED – we can offer assistance if you do not hold one at the time of application

The City:

 Whilst it is not as well known as Shanghai or Beijing, Shenzhen is one of the most modern and livable cities in China. A beautiful mix of green parks, sleek skyscrapers and sandy beaches, Shenzhen is a comfortable place to live and work. Reminiscent of New York, people travel from all over China and the world to work in Shenzhen, with restaurants and businesses selling all China has to offer. With five access points to Hong Kong, travel abroad on holidays is easy.
