UKLC Erasmus+ Project for newly qualified EFL teachers – guest posting

March 18, 2019

My name is Chloe, and I work for UK Language Courses. UK Language Courses (UKLC) organises residential stays for international young learners with a focus on English language learning, sports, excursions and activities.

We are lucky enough to have won, for the seventh consecutive year, European Social Funding via the Erasmus+ programme which allows us to run “Leaders in Language”.

The programme aims to give newly qualified CELTA/TESOL teachers much needed classroom experience and hopefully make them more employable and open to more career opportunities abroad and in the UK. The placement is like the stepping stone between getting their qualification and finding a job in the EFL world. About 70 percent of participants have gone on to secure jobs abroad which is something we are extremely proud of and since 2016, 56% of our participants have gone on to work for UKLC as English language teachers in our busy summer schools.

We offer a week’s training course in teaching Young Learners in Chester followed by a four-week teaching placement in Spain.  The programme is subsidised so flights, accommodation, insurance and small weekly allowance are covered for the participants. The only thing they need to fund themselves is the transport to Chester for the training and from the airport upon completion of the project.

Our first cohort of 2019 have already successfully completed their placement and some of the participants have already secured jobs and are teaching in various countries around the world. Our second cohort have just started their training week and they are very excited to leave for Spain!

We are recruiting for our third and final cohort this year and there are only 20 places remaining! The training week in Chester will commence on 28th April 2019, leading straight into a four week placement in Spain. All participants will return to the UK on 2nd June 2019.

If you would like to apply, please ask them to email ( with an up-to-date copy of your CV.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or need further information.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
